In Year 3, the boys and girls have been learning to multiply a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. The children began by using base ten and place value counters to calculate different multiplications and then were challenged to draw their own place value charts to show their working.

Year 3 are beginning to learn about the Stone Age as their class topic and we will be linking this theme into our Forest School sessions. A group of Year 3 and Year 4 girls took part in the Gymnastics and Cheerleading Festival at the Gateshead Leisure Centre. It was brilliant to watch all the routines from the local primary and secondary schools. Here are some pictures of their wonderful performance.

In Year 3 the children have been creating abstract self-portraits in the style of Paul Klee. The boys and girls focused on use of hot and cold colours and enjoyed learning about abstract art.

Years 3 and 4 performed their nativity production ‘Lights, Camel, Action!’ this week. The boys and girls sang, danced and acted brilliantly, showing what a talented group of children they really are!

All of the children enjoyed their Christmas lunch today. They ate their lunch of turkey and all the trimmings dressed in their Christmas jumpers.
