Autumn Treasure

Reception children used their senses to find natural objects that they liked. Feeling for textures, lots of nice shiny leaves, spiky grasses, colourful fruits, smelly herbs, they filled their bags. They moved around in the undergrowth with confidence and are beginning to be able to express why certain things caught their eye. Of course everybody has their own opinions so we had lots of lively conversation and debate about what makes something special. Once we were back in the garden, the children arranged their treasures by using clay to model a base. Always great fun getting messy in the rain.
