Year 6 documented their own Forest School session this week. As the year progresses so the children get more autonomy within their sessions. Some of them decided to link into their Second World War topic and build air-raid shelters. These were very impressive, robust, with good knot-work and well camouflaged. Others were getting creative with the clay. The progression in skills throughout their years can be seen in what they produced, pinch pots and coil work. Sculpting and manipulation, stamping and adorning with natural objects and some added a bit of drama to their big reveals. Whilst all this was going on some have designed and are building a new compost system with Mr. McMann. This will be a big improvement on our old one.
