Vincent Van Gogh’s Sunflowers

This week in Reception, we have been reading the story Camille and the Sunflowers: A Story about Vincent Van Gogh. We enjoyed exploring some of Vincent Van Gogh’s beautiful artwork, especially his famous sunflower painting. The children used oil pastels to create their own bright and colourful sunflower pictures, thinking carefully about shapes and colours. We also planted sunflower seeds outside and are excited to watch them grow! During our week, we went on a walk to look for different flowers in our environment, and used clipboards to draw the different flowers that we could see. We talked about and labelled the different parts of a flower and discussed what makes each one unique.

Article 31 – We all have the right to take part in cultural and creative activities.
