Position and Direction

This week in Year 6, we have been developing our understanding of position and direction in maths.

We began by revisiting co-ordinates, where we practised plotting and reading points accurately on a grid. The class showed great focus when identifying positions and using the correct vocabulary.

We then moved on to translation, learning how shapes can slide across a grid using given instructions. The children worked hard to apply their knowledge and describe movements clearly.

After that, we explored reflection, looking at how shapes flip across a mirror line. We carefully considered symmetry and ensured our reflected shapes were accurate.

To finish the week, the class completed an arithmetic test, where they showed determination and focus. We are proud of the effort everyone put in and the positive attitude they demonstrated throughout.
