Let’s Play the Forest School way

This term some of the children documented their time in our Forest School. They really embodied the Forest School ethos, firstly their confidence from having experiences long-term. The majority of our children taking part from when they begin at Harlow Green aged 3. Then the immersion in nature, using the rich and wild environment in exciting activities. Taking some risks, with confidence because they know how to access and mitigate dangers. Climbing trees has to be one of the most enjoyable activities no matter your age, their faces say it all. You can see some more organised activities taking place where they are collaborating to make some Forest based Games. This encourages collaboration whilst still  being completely open to interpretation. Allowing that freedom of thought that is so deeply rooted in the Forest School. They took part in some story telling, making up tales around animal shelters they’d built. Some really dark and spooky, others light and joyous. The aim to take a holistic approach to learning where there is something for everyone.
