Squirreling away

Year 2 spent the afternoon making shelters for their furry squirrel friend. They were shown the squirrel before we went outside so had an opportunity to look at its size and discuss what things they would need to think about. Maybe which location would offer the most protection from the weather, would it be raised off the floor, how many entrances or exits did they need. They did a fantastic job, using natural materials.

Principle 2: Forest School takes place in a woodland or natural wooded environment to support the development of a relationship between the learner and the natural world.
