Mad About Minibeasts

This week we have been exploring the book ‘Mad About Minibeasts’. The children loved listening to the poems and using the clues to guess each minibeast! In our drawing together time, we drew a range of minibeasts and talked about their features, such as legs, antennae, wings and pincers. The children then wrote their own simple clues for others to guess. Outdoors, we went on minibeast hunts and learnt interesting facts about what we found. In the creative area, we used clay to make our own minibeasts. To develop our fine motor skills, we looked at Matisse’s The Snail and created our own colourful minibeasts by cutting and arranging paper shapes.

Article 29 – Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full.
