Happy in our Forest School

The last session for this half term saw Year six enjoying natural den building in the woods. Trying to make a shelter waterproof can be very tricky without tarps. They used leafy foliage to create layers to protect from the wind and rain. Meanwhile in music, they have been learning to sing the song Happy, by Pharrell Williams, so decided to put on a performance on our stage. Using woodland instruments for accompaniment they were really proud of themselves. A really impressive end to this block of Forest School.

Principle 1: Forest School is a long-term process of frequent and regular sessions in a woodland or natural environment, rather than a one-off visit. Planning, adaptation, observations and reviewing are integral elements of Forest School.

Article 31 – We all have the right to rest, relax and play.
