Come and Play the Forest School Way.

Nature art in the Forest School. The children made frames from sticks, then collected natural materials to create their pictures. As you can see they produced some beautiful, detailed art, being really careful in how they placed the materials to get the best effect. As a class they then viewed their gallery of work and left it out for others to enjoy.

We then headed down to the other end of the field for some free play. Washing stones to reveal their colours, den building, more artwork, playing with the rope lines, getting the hens ready for the weekend phew what a busy but inspirational afternoon.

During reflection the children chose spirit animal cards to represent their feelings about their afternoon. “A snake because I had to wind my way around the ropes.” “A peacock because it reminded me of the colours I used when I made my butterfly picture.”

Principle 3: Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners.
