Muddy Music

Reception children have been making music Forest School style. In class they worked with Mrs Holt to create musical beats using objects around them. Thinking about the different sounds that can be created, tapping with a metal stick is very different from a wooden one but also different types of wood will change the sound too. What about increasing or decreasing pressure. Changing the tempo? Can textured objects make interesting noises and how could they put the sounds together to make a beat? Plenty to experiment with and as you can see the Forest School was filled with the sounds of percussion.

Principle 3: Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners.

Article 6 – We have a right to be alive and to develop in the best possible way.
