Heart of Grass

Year 3 continue collaborating on tasks in our Forest School. This week they collected as many different grass varieties as they could find. The grass was cut with scissors from the base, this gave good lengths to work with.  These were then manipulated into a heart shape which requires at least 2 pairs hands, Other children worked together to create and decorate crowns.

This activity encourages the children to observe their surroundings in more detail, improves their fine motor skills and requires calm co-operation.

Principle 2: Forest School takes place in a woodland or natural wooded environment to support the development of a relationship between the learner and the natural world.
