To begin our new topic for the Summer Term, Nursery have been hunting for minibeasts in Forest School.
We started the week finding out what minibeasts are and where they might live. We watched lots of videos and read stories. We found out lots of information and decided to see what we could find on our school grounds. We thought about what we learnt, and knew the perfect place to go – straight to the log store on the field!
We could collect any finds in our bug collection pots. We used these to observe how the creepy crawlers moved and used magnifying glasses to look at them in more detail. We carefully checked them off on our lists. Sole interesting finds were; millipedes, woodlice, spiders, beetles, slugs, worms, and lots of ants. What a lovely day in Nursery!
