Maximum Capacity!

Our unit of measurement in Maths this week is capacity and volume.

After spending some time looking at the scales on the jugs and cylinders, we got out the water and starting measuring!  Dying it with food colouring made it much easier to see in the container too.  Volume is always interesting so a practical lesson is essential because of the fact water changes to fit the container – so guessing which ones will hold 100ml, then realising they nearly all do is always big surprise.
