Matisse’s Snails in Nursery

We have been learning about Henri Matisse and his artwork this week.

Nursery read a story called ‘Snail Trail’ which showed us different pieces of artwork that were created by Matisse. It focused on his creation called ‘The Snail’, to fit in with our topic learning around minibeasts. The Snail was created using a collage effect which Nursery were keen to have a go at in our creative area.  The children enjoyed using their scissor skills to cut up pieces of paper using snips to make their shapes. They then practiced the skill of glueing onto the page to stick our shapes down and prevent them from falling off. We added larger shapes for the body and googly eyes too.

Article 31 – We al have the right to take part in cultural and creative activities.
