Irish dancing with Jump’n Jig

The children in Reception were treated to an Irish dancing taster session this week with Nicola from Jump’n Jig.  Everyone found the session thoroughly enjoyable and they learnt some basic skills required for Irish dancing.  During the session the children danced with the Jump’n Jig bears, used magic wands and danced with musical instruments.  They learnt to stand in first position and worked on their their jumping skills, leg lifting and musicality.  They also practiced identifying their left and right legs and arms and followed simple movement motifs.  We would like to thank Nicola for offering us this wonderful opportunity to learn more about Irish dancing.  Take a look at the photos below to see the fun we had.
