Reading Corner

Following a successful and inspiring visit from the author, Saviour Pirotta, this week’s recommendations are both books that he talked to the children about. It was interesting to hear that all of his books take six months to write and two years to be eventually published. The children showed a keen interest in the books that he shared and some will be appearing in classrooms soon for them to read.

The Unicorn Prince (Age 4+):  A tale of magic, love and…unicorns. When a girl offers a home to an injured unicorn, will it bring her the happiness she craves? A beautifully illustrated book.

Mark of the Cyclops: (Age7+): A thrilling mix of Sherlock Holmes and Ancient Greece. A young scribe has to try to prove that a slave girl is innocent and work out what the mark of the cyclops means. Will he be able to in time?

If your children read any of the recommended books, please could you let their class teacher know. We are dying to find out what they think!
