The children had lots of fun making funny faces with natural resources. We talked about what we would need such as some eyes, a nose, a mouth and some hair. The children’s ideas were fantastic.

This week year 4 were very excited about starting our history topic about the Vikings. They have made Viking longships and created a timeline on a Viking sword.

Year 4 have been enjoying learning the skills and rules of Unihoc. They had a go at playing their first game and really got stuck in!  

This week, our new children have been getting to know the Nursery routines and make new friends.  With the help of our returning Nursery children, they have been enjoying playing with the resources on offer and settling in.  

As part of place value in maths, we have been investigating negative numbers. After lots of learning about numbers below zero, we used our knowledge to try and win a number line ‘Tug of War’ game, where the first player to land on a given number won.  

As part of our geography, we have been learning about rivers. To understand the process of river formation, we first needed to understand the water cycle. After some learning, created our own water cycles in sandwich bags and attached them to the windows in order to observe the water cycle in action

During the school holidays, the Nursery has undergone a total refurbishment with new furniture and resources.  Each area of the Nursery, has been carefully developed to facilitate learning linked to the seven areas of the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’ curriculum and the ‘Characteristics of Effecti
