Rainy Days in the Forest School

Rain doesn’t stop the children embracing their natural world, as you can see they have been very busy in their Forest School sessions. Making prey houses camouflaged from birds of prey. They also completed the RSPB Big School Birdwatch and were really surprised how many birds they saw despite the wet weather. Year 6 have been working on weather proof shelters and Year 3 created some Forest crafts that will be used to complete our pond fencing. This gave the site a little bit oof recovery time when the deluge arrived on Thursday.

The Long-Term Principle: Forest School is a long-term process of frequent and regular sessions in a woodland or natural environment, rather than a one-off visit. Planning, adaptation, observations and reviewing are integral elements of Forest School.
