Human and Physical

Year One have been learning about the world around us and the seaside in Geography. At the beginning of the week, the children labelled Gateshead and South Shields on a map of the UK. They then were introduced to human and physical features in the environment.  They have learnt that physical features such as cliffs, rivers and mountains are natural and created by natural processes whereas human features such as lighthouses, buildings and piers are man-made. The children have become experts at sorting human and physical features.
