This week we have been learning about birds of prey, their characteristics compared to our familiar garden birds and how and what they hunt. With this in mind once out in the Forest school the children tried their hand at making prey homes that were camouflaged from the sky so no hovering kestrels could see them. They were really successful. They used the ipad as they were building to take photos from above so they could see any parts that stood out to the naked eye, a random coloured stick or an oddly shaped doorway, then they could use that information to camouflage further. The results were very successful.
The Nature Principle: Forest School takes place in a woodland or natural wooded environment to support the development of a relationship between the learner and the natural world.
Article 19: We all have the right to be protected and kept safe.
