Mad about Minibeasts

Reception have continued their topic ‘Explorers Outdoors’ by looking at minibeasts. We began by reading ‘Mad about Minibeasts’ by Giles Andreae and tried to guess which minibeast was being described. They then looked at artwork ‘The Snail, by Henri Matisse and had a go at creating their own collage minibeasts. Outside, they enjoyed a minibeast hunt and then had a go at making their own using resources from the forest. During the week, they have continued observing the caterpillars which have now formed their chrysalises. They can’t wait to watch them turn into butterflies. Take a look at some our photos below.
