Skipping School!

This week, Gail from Skipping School spent time with us, helping the children from Years 3-6 develop some skipping techniques.  This is part of a wider scheme in school to get more children skipping as part of our commitment to 60 active minutes a day, supporting children in their development of fine and gross motor skills and also getting children moving and exercising.  One PE session a week now starts with a skipping warm up with children developing their techniques.

She covered skills such as single bounce, double bounce, side straddle, side swing and the pretzel!

Every Wednesday, the skipping ropes are out at playtime and lunchtime and the longer ropes too for group games.

Gail is back in March to see how well we have progressed!
