Today, on the last day of the half term, we enjoyed a fantastic performance of Ada and the Code Crusaders, brought to us by The English Touring Opera.
Following on from last year’s great show The Vanishing Forest, written and performed specifically for schools, this year’s show was about Ada Lovelace, the mathematician who is credited with some of the first computer programming.
It was great! The children were so engaged, joining in and having learned some of the songs in advance, could sing along and take part.
It is so important to be able to bring live music and musicians into school and see a different genre of performance that many children won’t have had chance yet to see. We hope it inspires some of them to go on to explore the possibilities in performing in the future.
Thanks to the team at the English Touring Opera too who have gone off to debug the algorithm!
