Sequencing and summarising

In English this week, year four completed their reading of the biography of Usain Bolt. Using their VIPERS skills of sequencing and summarising, they recounted key events in his life and described them. They ordered images with a partner and discussed what they thought were the six key events in his story. They then summarised these events to create a story map. The children have loved learning about Usain Bolt’s life, and they are inspired by his determination and perseverance.
