Autumn Events in Reception

What a busy and meaningful week we’ve had in Reception! We began by learning about Remembrance Day, talking  about why people wear poppies and how they help us remember those who kept us safe. The children explored painting their own beautiful poppy artwork, using different tools and techniques to create thoughtful, expressive pieces.

We also took part in Anti-Bullying Week. The children loved wearing their odd socks to celebrate how unique and special we all are. Through stories and circle time, we discussed what it means to be kind, how our actions make others feel, and what to do if someone is unkind.

Later in the week, we turned our attention to Children in Need. Reception were amazing fundraisers, coming to school in their own clothes and joining in a variety of Pudsey-themed activities. We enjoyed creative crafts, decorating delicious biscuits, and even showcased our moves in the hall for the Strictly Dance Challenge. The enthusiasm and teamwork were fantastic to see!

Article 31: Every child has the right to relax, play and take part in cultural and artistic activities.
