The Year 6 children have had a fantastic first day leaving the normality of school and home to cross the border into Scotland for their residential experience at Lockerbie Manor.
After a quick stop at Gretna Green, where the children started a spontaneous applause for a newly married couple, the children arrived at their destination full of excitement.
Once the rooms were assigned, activities began which provided individual challenge and opportunities to work with collectively in fun and exciting ways.
Amongst the activities were: climbing, axe throwing, low ropes, fencing, and an obstacle course which led to a lot of very muddy children!
A nice hearty meal was enjoyed in between to refuel with everyone finding something that they were able to eat.
The children can’t believe how busy they have been so far and are looking forward to tomorrow’s events.
