On Monday, Year 3 and 4 had an exciting opportunity to put their French-speaking skills to the test by ordering a delicious crêpe!
The session began with a fun recap of facts about France. The children explored how many countries speak French, learned about famous landmarks, discussed Bastille Day, and revisited some traditional French foods.
Next, the children practised how to order a crêpe in French. They learned how to say “I would like…” and discovered the French translations for various tasty toppings. With so many delicious options, it wasn’t easy to choose just one!
Here were the topping choices:
chocolat belge – Belgian chocolate
confiture – jam
speculoos – Lotus Biscoff
citron et sucre – lemon and sugar
caramel au beurre salé – salted butter caramel
After rehearsing their orders, the children
asked for their crêpes in French—and, of course, enjoyed every bite!
