This term our boys and girls have been developing their digital skills in computing by looking at branching databases. The children began by looking at how they can create yes or no questions focusing on a collection of different objects which were then organised into groups based on the questions they asked. They then looked at organising dinosaurs into a tree structure looking at whether they fit into a category of yes or no questions. They then put all of their learning into practice by creating their own branching database using the iPads, the children were able to pick their own objects as well as their own questions to organise their items. They finally tested their branching databases with a friend to ensure they worked correctly.
