Muscles in our body.

This week in Science, the children have been learning about the main muscles in their bodies. The children first learnt that muscles help our bodies to move, as they are attached to our bones by tendons. The boys and girls learnt the scientific names for the muscles and used the scientific names to label a human body. They then completed exercises, making predictions of which muscles they would use and then naming them. We then made a model of a human arm, using card, elastic bands and split pins so the children could see how muscle pairs work together by contracting and relaxing.
