Stone Age Chefs

This week, the children were very excited to find out that they would be cooking. In DT, we began with discussions about food in the Stone Age. The boys and girls can explain that early humans were hunter-gatherers who had a diet consisting of meat, fruit, nuts and berries and how this changed with the introduction of farming in the Neolithic Era.

The children then worked in groups to follow a recipe to create a Stone Age meal with a modern twist – apple crumble in the air fryer. They did a great job peeling and chopping the apples, weighing ingredients and mixing the butter and flour to create the crumble.

The final product was very tasty!
