Gymnastics

Throughout the half-term, Year 6 have been learning various gymnastics moves and this week they put them all together to create a routine set to the music from ‘Thriller.’

The children have been taught how to keep their body rigid and help in a balance for five seconds; how to perform various rolls; and the importance of a squashy landing when jumping. They were then set the challenge of choreographing their own routine, where they had to combine these moves and link them together with dance moves. It was also important to think about their audience and how to have a clear beginning and ending. We were really pleased with the results!
