Short Multiplication

This week, the boys and girls have been learning how to multiply a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number. At first, they used counters and a place value chart to support their understanding. We then looked at how we can use the counters to multiply a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number with exchange. The boys and girls were introduced to the short multiplication method and they enjoyed practising setting out the method and working out the problems they were given.
