A Viking Adventure

This half term, year 4 are using a new text as a stimulus for their work in English. To launch the text, they were given the mission to be Histronauts for the afternoon. This involved travelling back in time to visit a Viking settlement to learn about their way of life. The children needed artefacts that they could give as gifts, or trade with the Viking people. They made battle helmets, jewellery, rune stones and a drawstring pouch. When the text was revealed, the children had to make predictions based on the front cover. Then, after reading the first few pages, they chose three questions that they would like to ask if they could meet a real-life Viking.

Article 13 – We all have the right to share what we learn, think and feel with others.
