Vikings Attack!

This week, Year 4 enjoyed a workshop with Bjorn, our visiting Viking, during which we learned about their weaponry, battle formations, how they debated and made decisions and also about some artefacts and traditional Viking games.

Over the day, the children had the opportunity to hear about the Viking way of life, both from a raiding side but also about their day to day lives farming and working.  We used shields and spears to recreate a Viking battle against the Anglo Saxons and how the shield wall and methods of attack made them very successful.

It was a great day and give us lots of discussion topics back in class.

Article 31: We have the right to take part in cultural and creative activities.
