This year sees the launch of fountain and calligraphy pens in Year 6. Throughout school, once children have mastered a neat and fluent style of joined writing, they are rewarded with a pen licence. For some children, this can take longer than others, but it is something that we know all children can achieve with patience and lots of practise. Handwriting and presentation are extremely important in instilling a sense of pride in what the children produce.
In Year 6, those children who have already achieved their pen licence, are now able to work towards being awarded a fountain pen by Mr Malik which they can then use for their very neatest writing. We are extremely proud of the first three children who have received their pen today and who have had a chance to do a little bit of writing to use it.
