Eruptions

This week, Year 6 have started their geography study of Pompeii. They started off by looking at volcanoes around the world and how plate tectonics contribute to their eruptions. They researched the different types of volcanoes and studied how many of them are located within the ‘ring of fire.’ After this, they began to focus on Mount Vesuvius in Italy and its disastrous eruption that led to the city frozen in time at Pompeii.
