Grids

This week, the children in Year 6 have been working on co-ordinates and translating shapes on grids. They have worked in the four quadrants and have considered when the co-ordinate needs to be positive or negative and have used the age-old memory aide “along the corridor and up/down the stairs.” Once they had mastered this, they started to translate shapes on the grid, which simply meant to move them about following given instructions and then give new co-ordinates.
