Reading Stars

Since returning from half-term, the children will all have completed a Star Reader test. This is used to assess their reading and to give them a new level for Accelerated Reader. There is always great excitement when children move up levels and have access to new reading material.

Just to remind parent that Reading Plus activities should be being completed as part of weekly homework. it is essential that children’s fluency and comprehension improves and this programme is specifically designed to improve the rate of reading. Studies show that children who complete the required number of activities per week, will make better progress and achieve to a higher standard.

This week, one class have done particularly well with their reading:

Class 6B – They are joint top for both AR and Reading Plus. Well done to the children in this class, who are clearly working extremely hard.

Class 3B have also scored well in Accelerated Reading and Class 5B in Reading Plus.

Next week, let’s see more classes pushing their percentages above 80%.
