Trip to the Mandir

Today we went on a trip to the IKSON Hindu Temple on Westgate Road.  The visit to the Mandir is part of our RE focus this term on the Hindu faith and Kirtida the priest always welcomes us with a range of activities including drumming, dressing up, listening to some singing and the Puja prayer ceremony, along with lots of time to hear about different elements within the Hindu faith.  This helps us put into context the elements we have learned in class, including its origins and key beliefs and the way it influences their lives.  The children always have lots of questions and asked about the vocabulary we use at school, like Dharma, Karma and Moksha.
