The Princess and the Pea

Our English reader this term is The Princess and the Pea.  We began by playing a memory game where we looked at different objects to help us predict what the story was going to be about. The pupils looked at a princess, a prince, a crown, a castle, a pea and a bed. The children used these clues to guess what the story was going to be about. After this, the pupils made a crown for the prince. We acted out parts of the story. Sometimes we pretended to be handsome and proud of all our possessions. Other times, we pretended to be lonely and miserable, as all the prince wanted was a real princess. The children had so much fun and we discovered some brilliant actors and actresses.
