We can add and subtract and that’s a fact!

Year 3 have worked extremely hard during our addition and subtraction block in Maths. The children have been learning how to add and subtract 3 digit numbers and have used the column method throughout this block which has led them to become increasing confident. We used a lot of mathematical words such as exchange and regroup which has helped us add/subtract and regroup across a 10 or 100.
They are now confidently working out word problems using this skill and have started to use inverse operations to check to see if their answers are correct or to find an unknown starting point.
