Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival

This year, as part of our Harvest celebrations, we have learnt about the meaning behind harvest through our class assembly times. We found out the importance of gathering crops from the fields. This year we raised donations to send to Feeding Families North East.linking with World Food Day on 16th October, we collected non-perishable foods for those who are less fortunate.

Feeding Families North East

Feeding Families is a charity based in North East England that offers support, hope and security to those experiencing food poverty. They work closely with other organisations and agencies to ensure that thousands of families, who are in desperate need, have access to emergency food boxes and support packages.

Harlow Green’s Impact

Due to the kind contributions from the Harlow Green school community, we have been able to collect a variety of food which will be shared with those in need over the cold autumn and winter months. Your donations were collected by volunteers from Feeding Families, who were blown away with the vast amount we have collected. The Rights Respect Group helped pack away the all of the donations into bags ready for the collection van. As they say, ‘many hands make light work’ and so with a great team effort the job was done quickly and efficiently.

A huge thank you to all who have donated; every tin and box will make a difference in the lives of people who are part of our wider community.
