Printing Perfection!

In Year 3, the boys and girls have been developing their printing skills during our Art topic.

The children began by learning how to roll the ink and explored the patterns created using different textures. Once the children were confident using the ink and roller, they used their skills to create a monoprint. Their monoprints were based on sketches the children made of ancient Egyptian artefacts. The children were amazed to watch their designs appear on the paper.

The children were then introduced to block printing.  They used a hieroglyph design to create a stamp block, taking their time to scratch their designs into a polystyrene block. After the children had created their stamp blocks, they printed their designs onto papyrus style paper.
