Friend or Foe

In English, the Year 6 children have started to study ‘Friend or Foe’ by Michael Morpurgo. In the first week, they did lots of reading activities to immerse them in the text and to understand the feelings and actions of the characters. This week, they have written a variety of ‘sentence stackers’ to teach new structures and punctuation. They will then be using these sentence stackers to write a letter from David, one of the evacuee children, to his mother. It has been interesting when the children have reflected on their learning, with semi-colons and remembering to use short sentences being key.
