How to make a jam sandwich!

This week in Year 4 we have been learning about instructions and all the features that go into them; imperative verbs, sub headings, numbering, conjunctions and of course the right amount of detail!

We started by instructing our teachers to make a jam sandwich – and let’s just say – it didn’t quite go to plan.  We realised that telling them to put the jam on the bread, meant that they literally, put the jam on the bread so we quickly had to edit and refine our instructions so that they had more detail in!

We did get there in the end, even if the bread did seem a bit squashed and the table a bit messy.
