Descriptive Dinosaurs!

The teachers have been amazed at year one’s creative writing this week. Over the term the children have been taught to write different sentences about dinosaurs. They have learnt how to use a capital letter and how to include powerful adjectives in their writing. This week year one had to put all of their new skills into practice to write a short description of a dinosaur. First they drew a picture of a dinosaur and told their partner sentences to describe it. Next they had a go at writing their sentences down. Some children even compared the size of the dinosaurs to a rocket, the Titanic or even a skyscraper. This is the first piece of longer writing the year one children have done. We are so proud of them.
