Children in Nursery have taken an interest in making birthday cakes in the playdough area, mud kitchen, and home corner therefore we explored birthdays this week.
The children have engaged in games where we roll the dice and count candles onto birthday cakes. Together we have enjoyed making party hats for our party games using different shape stampers. We have baked our own cakes this week following a recipe, we felt the different ingredients and described them using our senses of touch and sight. The children have even made their own mud cakes outside in the mud kitchen. The children in Nursery went into the hall for their gross motor skills this week, we played party games and danced!
