Magnificent Magnets

In Science, Year 3 have begun learning about magnets and their magnetic fields. This week, they have carried out two investigations. During the first, they tested a range of materials to find out which were magnetic and which were non-magnetic. The next day, they used different types of magnets and carried out an experiment to find out which was the strongest and could therefore attract the most paper clips. The children thoroughly enjoyed trying to create as long a chain as they could.  As an extra challenge, the children were tasked with trying to make a paper clip hover above the desk. Some of them managed to figure it out!
