Pulse and Rhythm

In music this term, the children have been learning about pulse and rhythm. They listened to lots of different songs and were able to find the pulse using actions such as clapping, marching and jumping. Once the children were able to keep a steady pulse, they used their body parts to create simple rhythms that had a mixture of long and short sounds. The children were able to listen and copy back simple rhythms created by the teacher and then went on to work in pairs. The children practised their rhythms each week and then finally performed to the rest of the class.
